Anyone ever try to fix a TPS?
My TPS might be shot, and if it is I will probably just get one at the junk yard, but I like to take things apart and see what's doin. So has anyone ever disassembled a TPS and even fixed a faulty one. I'm preaty good with eletrical stuff and the TPS probably just has a bad connection somewhere inside. I'll probably just break it worse but what the hell do I have to loose. If I can fix it; it would be one hell of a how-to. :)

Go for it...
The TPS is just a potentiometer ("pot" for short).  If it is dirty, then cleaning it will help.  Most of the time it's just bad, as the resistor traces are screwed. -Ted |
I think I ruined it while lubricating the throtle mechanism. I sorta sprayed white lithium grease all over it and that probably caked it up preaty good.
:p I'll try cleaning it. |
Yeah, I say go for it too. Nothing to lose if it's already broken. Let me know if you accomplish anything. I'm getting a new (used) one sometime soon, so maybe I'll try cleaning mine up sometime too.
Good Luck, -Derek |
