Anybody Ever Take Their Rear View Mirror Apart (and get it back together)??

I had two mirrors, decided to take the best parts of both and make one. It came down to taking the actual mirror off the mirror bracket, which is really quite easy, just one screw and it's off!
Getting it back together seems to a little more involved than I thought, and since I don't have three really small hands and X-ray vision I'm beginning to think it's impossible!
We have one piece of concave metal the screw goes through and two pieces of plastic that make the spherical hole for the mount to sit in. Having a little trouble getting them all lined up at the same time.

Any advice????:wallbash:

Side view mirrors?

Yes there's 4 screws hold the actual mirrior into the housing. Then - to remove the mirror, you need to remove the wiring also (assuming its power) so you need to undo the other screw inside the housing, then the 3 other screws on the "perch" (the piece that houses the screws for mounting it to the car) Once they're off, the wiring and mirror will come off, as well as the little bracket you jsut un-did.

In order to get at the 4 main screws, you need to adjust the mirror to its furthest position(s) to allow the phillips head screwdriver room to get at them, and then re-adjust for each screw.

Not difficult, but very tedious. Putting them back in I'd recommend lightly taping the screw to the screwdriver, then you don't drop them in the housing. But once you start to screw them in, the tape will let go an (hopefully) come off with the driver and not stay on the screw.

No, rear view mirror. The one in the middle of the windshield. I guess no one has ever done this before, I know I haven't-and now I know why. I think they build the mirror around the swivel joint!
