Any way to check H2O temp guage?
Is there way to test the stock water temp guage?
I've been reading lots of posts about overheating... so i just flushed/filled my radiator. Everything seems to be working nicely. My guage has never gone above "normal" which is just below 1/2 way up. Of course there are countless posts that say : "your temp guage has 3 positions: Cold Normal Fried Engine" I dont wanna spend $100+ on an aftermarket guage either... Thanks for any info  |
i will sell u an aftermarket gauge, 45 shipped to your house, used for less than 2 weeks (with proof of purchase)

Do you have any pics? Does it fit into the stock thermo sensor plug?
Anyone know a way to test out the stock one? (bump) |
There's a procedure for testing the temp guage on page T-40 (Body Electrical) of the FSM. I believe the S5 temp gauges are basically just three-position indicators, not proper linear gauges. The only way around that is to get an aftermarket one. These come with their own sensor which replaces the stock one.

The stock gauge moves to H at like 250F...
