Any "quick" N/A Convertibles out there?

I was just wondering if and who has a convertible that they would consider respectably quick. I'm not talking about any with TII swaps, just N/A. The reason I say "quick", is because I would consider calling any N/A Vert FAST an oximoron.

I have done a few things to mine, it runs 100% perfect. I've been over it with a fine tooth comb, but I'm still constantly embarissed by it's stoplight performance. I was just hoping that someone had built a quick N/A 'vert.

E.T.s
H.P.

figures would help.

I drove WestJaxVert's vert before the TII swap, at the time I owned a Sport N/A and I thought his 'vert was quick. It's all relative.

I would consider mine quick, but it is supercharged.

I just installed a Racing Beat header and High flow cat from Mazdatrix along with a K & N cone filter in the last week. My convertible is noticeably faster than it was!

Owning a convertible sports car is about having a nice ride that has the power to get up and go when you need it.
I do not consider a convertible to be a good drag strip car!
You would tend to see more convertibles on a road course racing in a GT style race.
If you are looking for stoplight racer or a ¼ mile car do not buy a convertible!

well .... technically.... I have a quick non-turbo convertible. ;)

Ditto the above. You might get some good power with a Renesis swap, once they become available.

not an rx-7 convertible. maybe a miata but an rx7 or any vert for that matter is not going to be as good as it's hard top counterpart.

buy the vert cause you enjoy it for what it is, a fun vert.

well the vert weighs a lot. Its not ment to be a Street Racer. The verts beefed up frame and top mechanisms make it the slowest of the Fc's. Your best bet is getting a swap with a TII and possibly a street port. If you do it right you can buy a TII, take the parts you need. And sell off the parts you don't need, along with your vert motor. Its time consuming and you will smell like PB blaster for weeks, but the final result will make you happy.

There is nothing like the scared look of an FD owner's face when his ass gets laid down by a vert boosting 17 psi. GOD I can't wait

Not only the slowest of all fc's but the slowest of all rx7's I believe.

It's fast, it looks good, and it's still for sale:
