Any pics of Black engine bay in red FC?
someone must have done this .
|
IMO black engine bays look good on any color car. All engine bays should be black from the factory. With special brake/PS fluid resistant paint.

i will post up pics of my engine bay tonight.

I did a quick spray job on mine before I dropped in the turbo motor.
Here's a few pics. Obviously I didn't remove everything, because I'm a lazy asshole, but it may give you a decent idea...no pics with the hood on, or fenders or anything... might be useless but hey, I did it, and I can give you pics. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...d/IMAGE036.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...d/IMAGE037.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...d/IMAGE046.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...d/IMAGE045.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...ld/Picture.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...Picture002.jpg |

my car is currently sanded down for brown paint, but i have painted the bay black. it gives you flexibility to change colors any time, plus i did mine easily with a freakin brush with a bunch of stuff still installed and it looks great. its not show quality by any means but this definitely isnt a show car. heres a picture:

Personally I prefer engine bays to be matched, one, because having a black engine bay makes your car look like a repaint, and two, because it makes it easier to find things you drop in there... plus it looks prettier (assuming you have a cool paint color to begin with). (for reasons including, that you can see more of what's in your bay, if you're trying to show off)

Here is mine.... I have moved the coils and some other stuff so it looks much beter.
I dont have the small intercooler anymore as well i have a gt42 instead of that 57 trim, no recent pics of the intercooler complete with ducting and Gt42 on though...its sex though :) And personally i much prefer this look because of the contrast it gives, especially with black irons and housings/manifolds to match the car I used a PPG Epoxy Primer, and put it on very heavy.... very very durable, almost like a rino lining..... i can drop wrenches and rachets and it doesnt scratch at all http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...3/8e82a5f3.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...3/carfront.jpg |

Thanks ....... that convinces me to go black for the bay
i'm getting the car repainted stock blaze red and the bay will be cleaned out and primed for a gloss black . The pictures helped me decide to keep the lip under the hood red . My engine rebuild by R.P.M will be finished in red/silver paint and some coloured lines and samco coolant hoses (red) should make it jump out of the bay . keep the pictures coming if anyone else has done it .... mine won't be posted till spring |

Vac lines? You mean they should be black? I got mine in silver. :) Silver on black engine bay = sex.
|
actually the best color to paint an engine bay is white. you can see everything including leaks. looks wise though i say everything should be the same color.
|
"best" is objective. :)
