any one with isuzu npr fmic install
I was wondering if any members has a npr fmic install pics and pro,s and cons of installing behind radiator for less bends I know the 3rd gens do it but I want to know of experiances

Any one

Installing behind the radiator will ensure your radiator sees fresh cool air, but the IC air is gonna be warmer. My V-Mount is setup like this and I don't have any problems with it. The cold side of the IC is always cool.
I use an npr but put it infront of the radiator. the piping isnt much longer really, i wouldnt mount it behind the rad personaly, makes the IC must less efficient
intercooler behind the radiator = interheater. it'd be useless.
they do fit nicely sandwiched behind the front support bea, and in front of the radiator, if you don't mind doing some cutting. this way also lets you get fresh air to the oil cooler--unlike the greedy kit. one big advantage these intercoolers have over most other "kits" and cores you buy from ebay is they are narrow, with a tall, wide core. this lets more air go through to the radiator, while still doing a great job of cooling off the charge air. |
Am I going to see any increase in power or its just a safty bolt on iwonder why the 3rd gens sandwich the npr with the radiator may be limited space?
anyone have any pictures of the set-up on their car. Im also trying to go fmic on my car. Sorry to thread jack.
sorry to jack again but is this ic about the same size as the a/c condensor core thing. Could you mount it their with little fabbing?
I had the npr and I had to custom fit it which meant lots of cutting and welding to maintain the structural integrity. Take a look

im curious also cuz i was thinking of going witht he same setup...looks very nice
Nice fitment? Many mods to the front to fit it?
so if i sandwich it with the radiator like the 3rd gens do i should be ok? also is there any power increase,or just an engine safety mod
This is some sort of Isuzu IC from a truck. It just fits between the frame rails and required alot of removal of the core support to get the IC lines to it. It was a bit of work but I am very happy with it. This is the only pic I have of it now. The car also has complete AC system too.

So I assume there was enough room to fit in between the oil cooler and rad right? or did you have to space the oil cooler out a bit? What's the dimesions for that NPR IC? I've heard of two sizes for the NPR. |
yes it fits perfect i got rid of the ac condensor and everything which comes with the ac because i have a mazda milenia and if its real hot i drive that i realise that i dont use my ac much every summer so i got rid of it i just have to take the rest of it out, but evrything fits like it was made for the car , later today i have to pic the pipes up it going to be chrome red then i have to pull the motor to paint the engine bay , i will post pics of my process, basically i wanted to set it up like the 3rd gens do i hope it works out if any one has any more pics of theres please post them ,and tell me your pro,s and cons of the install, because i didnt want to do the greddy pipe bending set up i just wanted it simpe short pipes , ijust have to change the alternator for the elctric fan and fog lights ill be running i have a bnr turbo down there
I used to have my NPR with the end tanks comming from up from underneath the car. Now I have taken it out and turned it upside down and am currently cutting holes in the sheetmetal and having the tubes go straight around the radiator to the motor. i have taken a few pictures and hope to be completed, and at least have the intercooler back in place later tonight.
