Any fix for a TII exhaust leak?

Just got the vert TII conversion done at Kevin's. Extremely pleased, working thru break-in all going well.
One thing that bugs me, the exhaust manifold on the engine has a leak. Causes zero problems other than the sound. Kevin says this is very common on TII engines, not much can be done about it.
I'm sure he's right, it's nothing I can't live with, but I'd just like to check the forum and see if anyone has come up with some kind of ghetto-el-cheapo patch/fix.
Thanks!

I've never tried it so close to the engine, but red RTV (good to 500*F) works well from the downpipe on back, especially if reusing the old gaskets...

When I had an exhasut leak where the maniflod and downpipe connected, the RTV red and gaket were totally vaporized, so i dont think it would hold up on the engine itself.

I have a feeling nothing will hold up there due to the heat. Since I'm planning an exhaust system replacement (RB) would it be best to go ahead with a header as well? I don't want it loud at all, just a nice tone.
Just for giggles, I'm calling mazda tomorrow for a price on a new manifold, anyone want me to post it?:D

If you dont want it loud, don't get a header. They are very loud. Anytime you replace the cat, its going to be loud, but it will be really loud with the header. If you're concerned with noise, go with the RB DP/presilencer combo. Its loud, but not too lound, and you get a really nice sound.
And yeah, I'd love to see what they charge for a new manifild.

Thanks, I figured that header would be loud..I'm old, can't take that crap anymore.
I'd like to fix the manifold so that when I do get a new RB system attached to it, I'll hear the system, not the tinny, crappy sound of the manifold leak.
I'll post the price, hold on to your shorts...:p:
