Anti-Afterburn Valve

I'm replacing my ACV and I noticed my AAV is looking pretty nasty. Aside from the carbon obviously...is an Anti Afterburn Valve supposed to look like this or should it be flat on both sides?

*Edit: Also, I can't seem to find these anywhere so if anyone knows where to get one I'd appreciate a point in the right direction. I'd prefer not to do any "customizing"....you know what I mean all you "just take it off" ppl.

Also....color me stupid, this is the intake manifold check valve. I don't know what I was thinking with that AAV bit. Regardless...it doesn't look right.

THANKS!

Yes, cupped is normal.

No, that's not the anti afterburn valve.

That is a checkvalve. The air from the airpump goes past that checkvalve on it's way to the exaust ports in the rotor housings. That checkvalve is supposesd to be able to keep exaust gases from flowing the other way, back towards the airpump/acv etc. It's a piece of rubber with a spring to keep it closed. Wash in gasoline and lightly brush the carbon off.

The Anti Afterburn valve is internal to the ACV and is a bit too hard for me to describe where it is. I can if you have a NEED to know about the anti afterburn valve and suspect it leaking.

Thanks Wizz, that's what I needed to know :D

the rubber diaphram was held open by some small chunks of carbon. I got thos cleared out but it still doesn't look like it's sealing closed. anyone know where I can get a replacement?

Hailers:
