Another TII Question

Well, I did some # crunching, and it looks like I will have at least $5k by the end of summer for a TII. My question: should I get a S5 w/ a blown engine for cheap, and swap in a new engine, or should I get a S4 for cheaper, and swap in a S5 J-Spec w/ sp? Or a fully running S5 TII? I could ahve up to like $7k to play with, so I need to start planning....;)

hmmm...

Get a S5 blown engine

then get a new engine w/ warantee and have it installed by a mechanic so that if anything goes wrong you can claim warantee...that way you can switch out exhaust and get other things working good. Just make sure you don't void the warantee (or at least keep all the stock components just in case you need to put them back on in an emergency =P

But PLEASE break it in nicely at least 1000 miles.

Well, I really don't want to pay a mechanic big bucks to do something I can do in a few days. Also, I really don't want to screw around w/ a warranty, and finally the nearest rotary shops are both 2+ hours away. Plus, I am keeping my N/A, so I will have a daily driver for those days when my TII dosen't want to work!!;)

hmmm....

Sounds good to me =)

I'd still grab a TII (s5..less electrical gremlins) with a blown engine (if you can find one cheap) and then swap in a new one.

If you can find one that has already been swapped...that would be a good choice too.

Good call. I think I can mangage a stock S5 for $5k. W/ $7k...man, I could get somethin REALLY nice!!

PraxRX7 05-01-02 12:49 PM

hmm...

Yea, I got mine for just over $5k US, now I am putting in more money to make a monster..

However, mine has 180,000 miles on it =P

2nd engine too w/ 20,000 miles on it.

my 89 TII with 120k miles was originally purchased for $500. $5000 later its running 13's ;)

That is my best friend Zach, stoned out of his mind. He is trying to make that face that anime characters make when making fun of someone. They usually pull one eye down and stick out their tongue. He is such a dumb ass, I had to use his face as my avatar!!!

first off get an s4 get a j specs5 motor and spend the rest of the money making the car to ur taste,s4's have less problms and the computer is simpler, i took off hte vacumm rack on top of my motor and ran a str8 line to my fuel rail from the fuel filter, my car runs 10 lbs and rich on m halmeter, that s a free mod thats good for bout 25 horse power
