Another stupid porting question
I'm gonna start rebuilding my motor soon and i find myself with enough money to only do internal stuff (streetporting). I don't have the funds for exhaust right now. Will I be doing anything to damage the motor if i port the exhaust and intake but leave the exhaust the same for a month or so? Please let me know.
Thanks |
you really shouldn't hurt it at all, but once you open op the exhaust and intake, you'll REALLY notice the gain... ( I'm doing the exact same thing BTW )

thanks. I blew my motor by running lean of course but there were no mods at all on the car. What is the easiest way to test compression while it sits in the driveway? I'll search for the answer too.

put a compression tester on the Leading ( Lower ) spark plug holes. if you want to get total compression, leave the retaining valve in. If you want to check pulses, remove it.
Just pull the EGI fuse, and have a friend turn it over. |
and what is considered a good number for compression?

I've seen above 90 and above 100 thrown around.
