Another slow FC build

Ok everyone im back on the rotary scene anD this time im going TURBO. After recovering my n/a from the mountain side with no engine trans microtech or diff this is what i got now
13b with t2 s5 housings and six port intermediate housings.
T2 trans (gonna rebuild it)
Rear t2 diff
And a 87 gxl body w/ a goddamn sunroof

And this is what i want to do (money is not an issue)

Slight street port
Ceramic apex seals
Not sure but maybe lightend rotors
Kaaz lsd
Re-Amemiya replica super g kit fd bumper though
Mazdatrix aluminum shaft
And the main issue on this whole build a sequential twin turbo system w a greddy 14ghk and a 15g
Maybe some oz superlaggera 18s
Amemiya brake kit
Make some chromoly drive shafts
Deatchea werks injectors

Any suggestions im starting the interior strip on sunday

ben.farnath 07-14-11 04:07 PM

i would buy a fd or cosmo block (complete if possible) if youre gonna use twin turbos. would be better than the mix n match of plates and housings you have.

Roto_Racing 07-14-11 04:15 PM

Haha the mix and match actually came that way but wouldnt i just have to set. The turbos seperately. I mean once the wastegate activates on the small turbo wouldnt all the exhaust flow to the bigger turbo once its wastegate deactivates. Note: im a little slow on how the computer would control the turbo. Also cosmo rew engines in puerto rico are scarse and expensibe

ben.farnath 07-14-11 04:22 PM

im not sure, i just think it would be a lot easier to start with a 13b rew with the standard twins and upgrade from there.

Roto_Racing 07-14-11 05:33 PM

As far as doing a rew on the fc im going to have to pass fitment issues and getting tje engine would obercomplicate the project id rather do a mid powerband turbo set up bit i still want to know anu imput on a custom sequential set up.

I don't get it... "Money is not an issue"
Why not go to the single turbo section? Sequential turbos are dodo-bird. Especially on this engine. This engine can spool anything, plus the latest ball bearing variable geometry turbine blade thingamabob-whatnot turbo you can make a usable power band. You said money was not an issue!

Roto_Racing 07-14-11 10:14 PM

What im trying to go for is power as low in the power band to as high as i can in the power band without using a higher pressure turbo so it wont compromise the engine. With a sequential it would be like staging the pressures for example 10 psi from 1.5 k to 3k then the second lets say a 20 psi turbo would kick in from 2.5k to as far as it could go of course this is just an example. Im still looking for a detailed explanation on turbos and turbo variations. If all else fails of course im going with a top class mid power turbo.
Thanks for the imput everyone , im getting some dry ice on monday to clear out the sound deddening

Roto_Racing 07-15-11 06:15 AM

So sopposedly i can use two seperate boost controls on each turbo and run them parralell. But i wouldnt know how to set that on a micro or a haltec since the last micro i had all i tuned was air mix haha hey i only had it for three months. So im looking for replica re amemiya headlights and i found a replica re super g body kit on andy autosport. Anyone know how reliable this website if not im just gonna browse the forum its a bit diffixult from a itouch but yeah
Note: as for the body kit im looking not buying yet
Thanks

You ought to go with the Shine Auto Project; RE-Amemiya FC2000 style front bumper, RE-Amemiya style sideskirts, RE-Amemiya style rear half bumper, and RE-Amemiya style rear diffuser. I've got the front bumper. It's truly an awesome kit, for a fraction of the cost of the real RE-Amemiya kit.

Cool dwb thanks theyve got the diffuser too
Interiors in bare metal and sound dampning pics wil be up once i can get my hands on a computer
Thanks

What kind of power are you wanting?

Single turbo is alot better, I'm going with a smaller turbo because low end is where I need help. Top end on these engines IMO is great, just getting there is what sucks.

Vacuum also is what is going to be controlling your turbo's.

I don't understand why you would want twin turbo's when FD's mostly go for single turbo swaps.

J5sense 07-18-11 12:25 AM

sounds like you need to do a lot of research. when i first started building my 300z years ago i dumped thousands on parts learning as I went. If i could do it all over I would learn all I can before spending a dime. You will save thousands and come out faster.

Roto_Racing 07-18-11 09:37 AM

Yes i do sensei, and i had a similar experience with my n/a. But from that is where i learned what parts go good with the drivetrain.
As for power im looking for a modest 300hp 290ftlb but where the power is placed is whats inportant, see im trying to get continuos power from around 3000-7000rpm, but my fear is that even with ceramic apexes and strong housing bolts a big single will be too much pressure and compromise the engines durability.
Where from what i understand a sequential system will deliver the same power but staged in lower pressures, thus putting less strain on the engine.
Please correct me if my fear is unjustified or if my sequential theory is way off.
Thanks again
Oh and havent gotten the dry ice todays a holiday i guess

flaco 07-18-11 10:17 AM

what a great choice ceramic apex seals

Roto_Racing 07-18-11 10:57 AM
