Another car cranks but dosent start thread.
My 89 jdm turbo 5 spd, wont start. I finally got it to crank and realized that it had nothing to do with the connections on the tranny. Anyways... Now my engine cranks but it dosent start. I have spark, fuel and air. The closest I get to start the engine, like realy hear it ROAR is when someone is cranking and I block the air tube (from intercooler to throtle body) with my hand. It shakes and feels like it's ready to start but wont.
And today I noticed something bizarre. After I crank it, I leave the key in the on position and I hear like a mini motor noise comming from the engine like around the intake manifold but only when the initercooler is installed. When it's off and I block the tube with my hand the noise aint there. Anyone ever heard of this problem or able to troubleshoot it ? |
i know i popped my IC rubber elbow and the car wouldn't start but if i floored it then it would start for.5 sec then die. didn't see the hole in my elbo at the time

It's flooded.
The buzzz you hear is the BAC cycling. Search for how to unflood the car or build a fuel cut switch and go from there. Search for Fuel Cut Switch and NZCONVERTIBLE if you need to make one. |
The buzzz i hear it only when the intercooler is installed. When It's not installed the buzz aint there no matter how many times I crank it.
Also on each side of the BAC valve are allen hex shaped plugs or bolts ??? Are they there for adjusting or for installation ? I'll write back if it's flooded. |

Ordinarily, you have this tube hooked up correctly, right? |
It's the bac buzzing. Called a duty cycle.
