Internal spring is different.

You can tell if you have an alum hood and a steel hood latch. You have to drop the hood from a much higher lift to latch it if the steel hood latch is used.

so will the aluminum hood fit in using the stock steel latch?

Yeah, when I got my vert the last owner had been in an accident and the body shop put the wrong latch in.

haha thats funny well at least i dont have to pay for another latch.

ya but thre are rumors of hood rot when using the aluminum hoods in combination with steel latches and hinges. I am currently searching for a aluminum latch cause i got a pair of hinges somewhere areound here.

If you're worried about corrosion, use dielectric grease between all steel and aluminium parts.
