Alright, probably a dumb Q: What is this reservoir in my engine bay?

On the passenger side of the car, up against the firewall there is what appears to be some type of fluid reservoir on my 88TII. I did a search, but since I didn't know what to search for I came up empty:D

SO... what is it, and what does it do?

I guess its your 'cold start assist' reservoir. It injects coolant fluid (I think) in the engine, when its cold outside...

Sub zero assist - throw that thing away.

It doesnt do a damn thing, there is actually a TSB to have it removed.

It does better outside your car than in. They never worked to begin with. :)

Yeah, as Rxmfn7 mentioned, Mazda North America released a TSB (technical service bulletin) recommending to remove that entire sub-system.  We have found evidence that the valve on the inside of the lower intake manifold can induce an intake vacuum leak, which can cause all kinds of headaches.
