Alignment problems. . .

I had to replace a tire ( nail in the sidewall ), plus the steering wheel was "off", so I took it in to get it aligned. Apparently the rear wheels are out of alignment, but they couldn't adjust the eccentric cam because it's rusted right to the body. So, I went to the dealership, and , no joke, I said "I have an 86 RX7", and his first words were " We can't help you, we don't work on those". I said " Are you serious? ", and he said, yes, so I went to one other place which let me look under the car. He said they'd have to drop the carriage to replace the bolts & cam, which are undeniably rusted together.

Any ideas?

pull the subframe and either replace the cams and bolts + blast the subframe around them and epoxy prime(I would) or take it all apart and clean them up.

either way if you don't take your time and free everything up you'll just break the bolts.....UNLESS you go at it with some heat and some paitence, in which case you may get them off

If I were to replace the bushings, would this work?

what was out on the rear? your toe? cause thats about all you can change on the rear adn front as well, the reason your steering wheel is off if because your front toe is off. if your tires arent wearing, i wouldnt worry about the rear alignment, just have them set the front toe

^^true

However IF you do want to adjust the rear alignment you'll have to do the work...

and -yes- the Energy suspension bushings I installed (it was a master set, but I don't recall "hyperflex" being in its title, but more than likely the same exact kit)could go in at that point in time, as far as the rear goes anyway obviously

Here's the data sheet, if it helps any.

classicauto, where would you get new eccentric cams? The dealership?

gotta love how amazingly unadustable our suspensions are. i had front camber issues. +1.5 on driver side, -1.5 on the passenger. unstable. got camber plates. good luck.

yeah you have some toe issues on the rar for sure, as far as the camber on the rea, that could be attributed to worn DTSS...

yeah the dealership would be about the only place, try mazdatrix or mazdaspeed though as well, never personally had to buy them though
