Ok my alarm goes off for no reason every other day in the morning at around 5-6 am

We may have a similar problem.
Mine seems to be temperature related.
Above 70F is works well.
Below70 it usually fails to setup, and has tripped spontaneously.

I haven’t been into it yet, but I suspect a weak connection or connector solder joints.
It could also be an out of adjustment hood switch.
If the hatch or door switches were giving trouble, you would be getting warning light.

who would want to steal an rx7? ;)

I would cleck the grounds definately, use the FSM to locate all the points where it can be activated. Also notice any weather pattern when it goes off, i.e. dewy then when it starts to warm up 5-6AM the alarm goes off or anything like that?

check the hatch draining holes. if they clog up the car will think the hatch is open

your profile says you have an '86. the stock alarm's brain is a little silver box under the passenger's side dash next to the speaker. i just ripped mine out.
