alarm
When i bought my car it didnt come with an alarm clicker. Neither of my door locks work (the driver side lock is messed up, after someone tried to break in; and the passenger door was replaced.) My alarm randomly goes off sometimes, and i know this is due to a faulty connection in one of the doors. I need to replace both locks....but my question is, can i get a clicker from somewhere that would work with my car?
and what does the alarm box behind the glove box look like? Is it black or a bronz color? I probably sound like an idiot, but it needs to be asked. sorry for the long ass post, but i thought it needed to be explained properly. |
i dont think any of our second gen's came with clickers... you can get an aftermarket alarm that will work for your car... usualy 200 - 500 installed depending on options.
you can get lock sets from mazdatrix, cant remember how much they cost though |
sounds like an aftermarket system as the factory systems don't have remote controls or power door locks interfaced with a remote control.
Infact on cars with the power locks, they are a "Follow me" system with only a switch in the drivers door. |
And location of the factory system is dependent on series. what year do you have???

I have a 87 TII. I didnt realize that the stock system didnt have a clicker. Thanks guys.

No factory remote or factory power door locks on an 87 T2
and the security unit is the silver gold box behind/below the glove box. |
thanks
