airpump install

Hey guys, i did a search with very little helpful info. I'm trying to get my car to pass emissions, and i purchased a used airpump, unfortunately all it is is an air pump with no bolts, belts, hoses or anything else. I'm looking for some direction as to how to install the airpump and what all is required.

Any direction would be appreciated thanks!

Try a breaker's yard, you'll see how it is mounted and you can get the brackets and hoses from the donor car

The exploded views in the FSM fuel and emissions section will also show you how it goes together. Depending on model, you will have 2-3 bracket pieces, 2-3 bolts, the hose to the ACV & the belt.

will the brackets, bolts, and hoses from any model work? This is a 91 NA with a JDM TII swap

They will need to be from a turbo model, and they all have to match. US-spec airpumps and brackets are different from the J-spec versions. The J-spec pumps are smaller & mount in sort of the reverse way. But you can still use all US-spec parts on a J-spec engine. The water pump housings are the same.

Bolts shouldn't be too bad, anyone with an RX-7 has spare bolts of all shapes and sizes. ;) Belt, go to a local auto parts store, they should have it. Hell, my local Autozone had my alternator belt! Hoses... Just find a hose that is the right size and pick a length that reaches the cat. Rig it however you can, you only need to pass once a year. After that it all comes off.
