airbag?
Hey, I came across an S5 steering wheel. that would have an airbag, right?
anyways, if it does, could i saftely swap it into my S4? my parents woud stop sweating every time i drive away and i would get an insurance discount plus. . . being alive is good |
No. The airbag is not a self-contained unit. It relies on a set of sensors and a computer to control it. Swapping a wheel with an airbag installed into a vehicle not designed for it is very dangerous. Airbags which are disconnected are easy to set off via any stray electrical charge.
If you want to swap in an airbag wheel, have the airbag properly removed by qualified people first. |
Only S5 verts had an airbag if I remember right. And if you're that concerned about an air bag, you might consider just getting a newer car.

i like having a car thats older than i am
and btw, thanks for the clarification aaron, i didnt think it woudl be taht simple. but i thought it was work asking |
Look at the air bag section in a 91 FSM. There are more warnings about working with them then instructions to work on them.
