Air pump aux port activation question

I read the whole post in the archives, what a wicked idea, I will be having to do it since my exhaust has no backpressure whatsoever.

But yea, the dump hose, where the excess air goes, would it be smart to hook this up to your intake? The greater your rpms the greater your air pump speed, the greater the air, thus the more air the engine needs to be fed into the intake?

is this a good or bad idea?

thanks.

I wouldn't connect the "overboard" air into the intake, because the pressures are going to vary there, resulting in varying pressures in the supply system for the ports. How much this will affect the opening pressures, gots no idea...Generally a bad idea to inject air downstream of the AFM anyway- the ECU can't schedule extra fuel for it, because it doesn't know it's there...

I have a supply tapped into the air pump-to-ACV hose, with a "T" in the tubing going to the aux ports, with a 3/16" (or so, can't exactly remember now) "relief" hole in the end of the "T". With the ACV rigged to dump continuous air into the (nonexistant) cat location, the ports open exactly at 3800, give or take (otherwise there would be WAY too much pump air to the ports)

plague, if your acv is functioning correctly, this probably wont do much for you. at any rpm above like... 1500 i think, the acv dumps into the cats, so there wont be much leftover dump air for your intake. but if you want to be really cool, you could hook up a BOV to your acv dump. then when you shift itll go PHSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHH

^lol, yea but im not gonna pay 400$ for a BOV thats just for show.. heh.. nice idea tho ;)

As for the mod, I was thinking of just hooking up the air pump DIRECTLY to the homemade activator assembly. But what im wondering is if this is going to be too much air and will it blow the assembly right off? maybe if I use larger hoses.. hmm..
I don't have an ACV anymore, so I can't T it off with that unit..

Air pump source alone will be WAY too much air...Consider, the pump produces 1.7 psi at idle, and this in a what, 3/4" ID hose? Now compare that with a 2.1 psi opening pressure of the ports, in a 3.5mm hose. Like I said, I'm dumping all the pump air into the split-air pipe through "wide open" ACV passages, and still had to bleed further with the "T" in the ports' supply line...
