air/fuel and o2 voltage (optimal) reading
 

just installed a s-afc and apexi turbo timer that has o2 sensor voltage reading and a a/f reading on it...im trying to adjust the s-afc so its perfect..this ecu i got from r-magic in japan was on a race car so its gives my car to much fuel so it runs rich (i think)...so i have this s-afc to tune the gas down a little and i would like to know what the best 02 voltage is on these rx7's to go by...were is the reading at perfect so i know when its starting to get rich or lean?and if somebody can give me website or tell me were i wanna run rich and werei wanna run lean that would be awesome

Don't attempt tunning basing yourself on the stock narrow band O2 sensor. Go to a dyno shop with a wideband and tune it there.

I agree with the advice to go to a professional shop for tuning, but I disagree with the reasoning. The narrow band O2 sensor will work just fine for tuning, as will no O2 sensor at all. The key here is to have a good tuner working on the car. No offense, but if you are asking questions like this, then you need to take the car to somebody else. I often take my car to professionals for advanced work, not because I am stupid, but because I am smart (at least in this respect, lol). ;)

There's a dyno shop (NO personal experience!) on Highway 17/92 in longwood, look in the phone book for transco transmissions, It's right next door to them. If you know where 17/92 and 434 intersect, it's about 1 ~ 1.5 miles north on your right (if you're heading towards lake mary).

Give'em a ring, see if they have any rotary experience. Lemme know, I want to get mine tuned also :D

and that dyno shop on 17/92 does not to rotary cars..the guys at fuego racing refered me to a shop in apopka named lugo performance there # is4075221505

you don't need a rotary guy to tune a S-afc.
you'd only want a rotary guy if you were playing with the timming.

as long as the shop knows how to use buttons on the S-afc. just tell them you want it at 11.9:1. it's easy.

11.9? would that be the a/f ratio? is that what i wanna set it at on my gauge with the s-afc?i have a decent a/f ratio digital meter on my apexi turbo timer and now it reads 12.5 -14.0 is this to rich?

it's air flow ratio. the lower the richer. at 14:1 at full throttle you'd pop your engine in a sec.... way to lean

either that reading is at crusing or your 02 sensor and gauge are usless which most are. which is why everyone says to go to a dyno and use a wide band one.

You really need to take your car to a professional tuner. At least the tuner will have insurance, and is able to compensate you if he blows up your engine. I cannot say the same for the comments on internet forums.
