again with engine not starting help
 

im haveing problems starting my car. we checked the spark i bought new spark plugs we checked the gas. i unpluged the fuel injectors then started the car without the spark plugs in trying to de flud it that way. then put the plugs back in and started it again and pluged the fuel injectors back in and still it wouldnt start. i have a blown auto tranny in it. (i just bought it im going to swap) i looked in the shop manual in the troubleshooting guide on page 7B-10 and it talkes about if "engine does not start in "N" or "P" - "range selector linkage" or inhibitor switch and wiring" oh also ingnition switch and starter. but its turning over fine so i think that the ignition switch and the starter is fine. does ne one think that the tranny could be the problem or has ne one else had or seen this problem oh yea and we checked the spark plugs and they are sparking. help

First things first,

Explain how you are deflooding by unplugging the injectors... If you are just unplugging the injectors that you can see, then you are just unplugging your secondaries...

oh yea thats all i did. after we did that it sounded alittle better but it already sounded like it should be starting, my other car struggles more to start and this one sounds great and it wont start. so should i also unplug the primary injectors? wait isnt there only two i disconnected them both, and all four spark plugs. what could it be

There are 4 injectors on your car... And you dont need to unplug any of them... You can disable your fuel pump by:

A: Pinching off the fuel line
B: Unpugging the fuel pump
C: Pulling the underhood fuel pump fuses.

you need to unflood that motor

how long can i crank it before the starter gives?

im scared im going to have to buy another starter.

Well, if you deflood it correctly, your starter shouldnt have to do much work.. Especially if the spark plugs are out.

This is a new (to you) car, right? Did the previous owner have the same trouble?

oh the previous owner blewthe tranny in december and hasnt started the car since. so yea it seems as tho that i need a rebuild. and a auto->manual tranny swap fun stuff thanks for the help i think thats good but if someone thinks that they can help me more by all means help please. thank you all

To unflood the engine:[list=1][*]Pull out the 30A EGI COMP fuse under the hood (this diasbles the injectors).
[*]Hold the throttle wide open and crank it over for at least 5 seconds but no more than 10 (or you'll overheat the starter motor).
[*]Replace the fuse and without touching the gas pedal try to start the engine.
[*]Repeat if unsuccessful, allowing 15-20 seconds between cranking to allow the starter motor to cool.
[*]If still unsuccessful, remove the leading (lower) spark plugs and repeat steps 1 and 2.
[*]Using a small oil can (by far the easiest method), squirt a small amount of engine oil or ATF into each plug hole.
[*]Replace the spark plugs and repeat step 3.[/list=1] If that doesn't work, you need to confirm you are actually getting fuel and spark.

This won't be a problem with the auto trans wiring, as the engine will not even crank if the selector isn't in P or N (or the inhibitor system is malfunctioning).

I dont think the trans is to blame, im having the EXACT same problem with a functioning manual trans. I have good spark, good fuel pressure and it still wont start. Right now i want to blow up the car
