after that streetable "teenager" FC

I'm after the perfectly streetable, not too crazy FC. I want to get down to about low 13's high 12's. With the cash from a normal teenaged job... lol. This is what I've gathered so far, Give me all your opinions. Critique the shit out of it if needed.

Started with a s5 GTU.
Got a jspec s5 13bt.
Kept the engine nearly stock besides full custom exhaust.
Did the full swap, engine blew.
Now I want to rebuild with a street port.
After the motor is broken in...
Racing Beat FCD.
Apexi S-AFC.
Four 720cc injectors.
Aeromotive RR FPR.
Walbro 255 lph.
Frount mount intercooler.
Around 10-12 PSI. (stock turbo)
Fully ported manifolds.

thats good enough for your goals

First gen man 03-23-06 02:13 AM

Sweet shit then. I wasn't sure if that would get me there or not. Thank you.

classicauto 03-23-06 08:04 AM

I don't think you'll need to have all 720's....2 720 secondaries should do just fine on a street port.....

and also you'll need (unless you have it already) a boost controller if you want to reach 10 psi

and as well some monitioring never hurts...I.e. a readable boost gauge, AFR gauge, and oil temp is always good to know (especially with a front mount semi choking the oil cooler

NOPR 03-23-06 09:15 AM

standalone! sell two of those 720's and run some rebuilt stock 550's, theyre more than enough for the primaries.

Boost Controller

I have a MBC but I haven't hooked it up yet because all I want is 10 psi and my stock wastegate hangs on for dear life at 10. I get 11-12 for a second in 5th but that's it.

Of course it blew up, it was a jspec. What you think those crazy kids in Nippon were doing to their cars? Granny driving and shifting at 3K?

What do you mean by perfectly streetable? I don't know what smog/emissions regulations you have FL if any, but are you referring to sound levels, etc?

may as well go with the rtek 2.0 ecu, it has adjustable stock map built-in with 720's x4 compatibility, and you wont need the safc or the RB FCD

You will really thank yourself later. An SAFC is a waste of time and money.

Not an options, his car\engine are s5.

I disagree... A S5 turbo with full exhaust, 3" TID, FMIC, and a streetport will most likely default at 10-11 PSI anyways... :)

I mean like a teenager style, car. I can beat on honda's go to school, go to work, go home and drive to a club lol. just something reliable.

Ya, I would have an rtek faster than shit if they had them for s-5....

Well for boost control, I was going see if my ported wastegate would be alright. If not I acually know a guy local that has an HKS log manifold with external. So If boost creep is a problem I'll buy that, and run an open wastegate muwhaha.

What does "teenager style" mean? Bling bling?

Get the car reliable to start with before you fuxxor with it. Stock, reliable, in-tune T2 should be able to whomp on Hondas just fine unless theres some kid at your school whose parents bought him an S2k and dropped an LS1 in it or something.

You can't make your car fast, cheaply, and especially not fast, cheap, and reliable all at once. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Fast, cheap, reliable. Pick ONE.

Well a point I was trying to make is you don't need crazy shit to make power with the rx7. Everyone in my town thinks there slow (most are) except for Himni Racing's car. He has a Microtech so they all blame it on that, they think thats the only reason why his car is quick like it is.

Also I'm getting tired of these gangster ass turbo jobs on all the honda's. All of them running an SAFC and hitting 13's and 12's, with the sketchiest turbo setups.

I could always run a lt-8 and say I have a stock ecu lol...

I understand this, I am going to do that. Start off with a street ported motor running on the stock ecu and such get it to run perfect, get some monitoring items, then go into making it faster. This project will be more to the reliable and fast side. Not exactly cheap, but I'll be on the stock turbo and stock ECU.

There's a couple few nasty Honda's around hear. All of them turbo, about 3 or 4. All running between 12-13's. I think the fastest right now is 12.8 on slicks from a honda coupe. Also Srt-4's are popular hear (i hate them) but there's about 5 of them. I just wanna whomp on these guys. I'm tired of everyone around hear thinking srt-4's are the shit lol..

I think you really should just concern yourself with your car and not worry about what all the other kids are doing.

So all the cool kids like SRT-4s? Who gives a shit?

RX-7s aren't straight line wonders. The biggest thing they have going for them is the handling. If people with turboed Hondas give you shit cos they hacked up their econobox to run a 13 second 1/4 mile then tell them to meet you on a track and hope you're a better a driver.

Ya this is true, but around hear there isnt autocross, track racing in general for 100 miles. The best thing we have is some curvey backroads... I'd do autoX everyday is it was around. There's really not though, so we all resort to backroad street racing.

I'm not really worry about what other kids are doing, I'm just out to prove a point that there shit's weak lol..
