afm work still with s-afc?
 

I know that the s-afc changes what the ecu thinks the afm is seeing. So the ecu adjusts accordingly correct? And in stock form, the ecu adjusts fuel based on the signal the afm sends it right? So when you have the s-afc set, then the afm can't do any adjusting...is this correct? I was just wondering. Like when you set the s-afc if that is the exact amount of fuel you will be getting at each specific RPM all the time.

You're getting a little confused.

The AFM tells the ECU what the air volume entering the engine is. Using this information, the ECU can figure out that it needs to give x amount of fuel to go with y amount of air.

The Super-AFC modifies that signal, basically lying to the ECU. The ECU will think there's more or less air coming in, so it will add or remove fuel appropriately.

The AFM is one of the primary inputs to the ECU, BTW - there's no way the system will work without it.

Also, you aren't putting a static value into the Super-AFC - it basically says at x rpm and x throttle value, lower or raise whatever the airflow meter signal is by so many percent. You aren't giving the ECU hard numbers with the Super-AFC, just adjusting what information it gets.

Oh alright. I understood what the ecu/afm do but couldn't explain it as well as you just did, thanks. So to answer my main question(will the ecu still be able to adjust some like it does in stock form), it is yes, right? Thanks alot.

Yes it will...I dont think you quite understand how the AFC works.

The ECU is dumb. It doesnt care "where" the signal from the AFM comes from just so long as it gets one. Now all the AFC does is splice into the AFM signal, hop it up ( or down ) and then send it to the ECU. As far as the ECU is concerned, there is no AFC...Just a higher signal from the AFM.

See whats going on? It just manipulates the AFM signal to whatever you want. The ECU never knows the difference.
