AFM question, trying to fix a problem
what happens if you put a S5 turboII AFM on a S5 N/A computer, im trying to fix my high idle because swich back to FI and it wont go down under 2500 rpm. thanks
BTW i searched for 2 hours and i didnt find nothing related to my problem |
it should be ok. i think the T2 afm's are calibrated a little bit higher on top end... but nobody really knows. hell i put a s5 afm on my s4 car and it ran great. (yes i had to rewire it) lol

well, anybody have some opinions what could be my high idle problem? because it sucks and i dont wanna put the holley carb back

Water thermowax not getting any water to make it expand hence keeping the throttle plates open more than normal.
Look into the throttle plate area and see if both primary and secondary throttle plates are closed all the way. We won't mention a over tensioned throttle cable/cruise cable. |
You didn't search good enough.
It has been covered countless times before. I highly doubt it has anything to do with the AFM? Why do you suspect the AFM in the first place? Did someone tell you to replace it? -Ted |
RETed: You didn't search good enough.
It has been covered countless times before. well, i dont know because i searched for a long time because i know how picky this forum is, and i look in anything related and i didnt found an answer or anything that lead to it RETed: I highly doubt it has anything to do with the AFM? Why do you suspect the AFM in the first place? Did someone tell you to replace it? nope, just i had turbo part here and i had everything, manifold, afm, fuel rails, the only thing i have n/a is injectors and 3 inch intake, and i put everything together and ajusted the TB screw on the car doesnt wanna idle under 2500. i dont think i did a shitty half fast job because i carefully put it together and i cant find any intake leaks, that why my suspition if the AFM been a turbo one could cause the problem. sorry to bother but i need some help that all |

both, the throttle stop and the idle speed on the bac valve, remember i have a turbo manifold

Are the throttle plates all the way shut or not. On a fully warmed up engine.

i found today a little screw that was keeping the primary tp open a little and that make it stay revd up like it did because i took everything out and put it back together this time with the water lines hooked up and still did the same but i found hat screw and fixed it, now i have the up and down rev crap to fix wich i think is the TPS, but thanks
