AFM Question 2nd gear Rich.....

Ok guys, I just went down to smog, passed the pre-test. On the final test, one of the guys says," hey, in second gear, you guage shows you are running rich. I would not advise you continue until you figure out what this is". It does not peg out, but does creep into the rich side, rather than fluxuating like it does in 1st gear. What do you guys think. Is this normal to run a bit rich? I have both cats, all smog stuff back to normal. It is a fresh Atkins street port on a Turbo 2.
Thanks,
Chris

do you have a wideband...?

No I do not. It is a typical Autometer C2 Air Fuel Gauge.

This is about where it pegs out when in 2nd gear/ 25mph 3000rpm

I would thing the extra load in second on the dynometer would cause your engine to run a bit richer since its has alot of load on it.. and might start to see boost.

I would think so to. The guys where just leary about it. So, that is why I am here. They did not know what wire was the leading. Suprised? LOL...... I was not at all. So, that could be a normal reading, I just want to get advise before I go back over there.
