Advice , next mod 89T2

I have a 89 T2 w/ 95k and would like to run it at 10 psi boost while safe. from most posts this seems reasonable, without upgrading the turbo??

I'd like to know what weak links need attention.

Here's what I have done:

-Knock off cone filter intake---is a k&n or hks worth $
-2.5 Down pipe, 3'' mid and high flow cat, 2'' Y and magnaflow mufflers.
-Greddy 2 row V-SPL Intercooler w stock bov
-FCD--(Don't know what I'm boosting now)
-New Fuel filter, "cheap insurance"
-Alt pully
-Ac,Air pump, PS belt removed --most of the time

Here's what I think MAYBE I should do.
-Find a manual steering box so the ps can go bye-bye permanently.
-Get digital boost and a/f guage
-maybe get rid of the stock bov? 4 a greddy type s(is the stock one bleeding off anything over 5.5??)
-Fuel pump?
-Need boost control of some sort. Thoughts please.
-Need fuel control of some sort...SAFC???
- Dump the high flow cat.

What should I do?
THX
PS she is running great currently

fuel mods, either an FD fuel pump, or a walbro.

i've often woundered the same thing about the cone filters I'm about to buy one off of ebay but don't know if I trust the non name brand however usually they are made out of the same stuff your just usually paying for the damn name. just my 2 cents

10psi?

Boost gauge/fuel.

Could not find any info on dyno tests with intakes and the knock off seems to be the same as K&N...so y spend more?

As I understand, the stock turbo and injectors were not designed to handel more then 11-12 psi....so ten sounds safe.

Fuel pump sounds like good insurance...maybe a rewire too. Or maybe I should just get a a/f gauge to see if she runs lean at all first???

Just make sure you have enough fuel. Also sometimes the difference between quality filters and generic ones is that the generic ones may be made of paper or the foam may be poor quality and be sucked into your engine. I would pay the extra money for a K&N plus it has a 100k mile warranty.

Keep the ps, get a fuel pump and clean the injectors, then maybe think about a fuel cut defenser and a boost controller.

Got a FCD installed...plan on getting better filter with front flow( that's the best i can describe it)...liked hks and K&N on my last two NAs.
Won't the new pump screw up my a/f ratio and give me bad mpg till it is tuned with safc?

It might give you a little worse gas mileage, but you have the extra insurance against running lean and detonating on the stock pump.

For 10psi you will probably be safe with just a walbro pump since you have a fmic. But I'd go with an s-afc, walbro, and better catback. You did say you have a 2" y-pipe, right?

**edit**

And get some gauges, at least a good boost gauge. Thats the first mod you should do.
