Add coolant light and buzzer

every other day it seems my add coolant buzzer and light goes off and after the car warms up it goes off. I know that there is plenty of coolant in my car because I just filled up and my car has never overheated. Is it a bad sensor or something. Is there any way to turn off that damn buzzer?

Its probably just a small amount of air in the system, did you deffinatley put enough coolant in when you changed it ? also is there the right amount of coolant in the resevoir ? I wouldn't just disconnect the buzzer or warning light, you'll not know when something is wrong if you do.

why does it stop after the car warms up?

When the coolant heats up it expands and the excess pressure is forced out via the rad cap. When it cools down a vacuum is created and coolant is sucked back in via the rad cap. Start the engine and let it warm up then check that there is enough water in the resevoir and that all of the plumbing to the resevoir is o.k.

someone grounded my coolant sensor wire to the frame to keep it from going off. i just repaired it today, but if you definetly want it to quite you could ground it.

Of course then you won't have warning when a hose breaks and you loose all your coolant, if you just kill the sensor or ground the wire.
