ACV removed, EGR stays, what about rat's nest?
First I'm praying for the forum not to fail when I'll click " submit "...
So I have air pump, ACV removed. I have BACV and EGR still on. What may I do with the rat's nest? If it's too complicated to change layout to make it only EGR and BACV/Bypass Valve I'll stya like this, If it's quite easy and can save a vaccum plug I'll go for it, I don't like the idea of T-ing a vaccum for the Boost Sensor. Any ideas? Thanks, Matthieu typpin' this for the second time... (I hate that!!) |
is there a reason why you are keeping EGR? Without the ACV you'll never pass emissions unless you route the air pump straight to the cat. You might as well blockoff EGR as well.

Hi,
for emission it's OK for me, in France we have a 2 year full check of the car, emissions are just C02 and C0, wich fail but as there is a different way to check RE and for there is not check center with the stuff they get rid of the test and check the " non applicable " box... About the EGR it's a daily and EGR does only good: lower engine temp and save gas! Both are enough for me, mind that here gas is 1.5€ per liter, the FC burns 12 liters for 100 Km ( this is our fuel econmy unit ) when most people uses diesel engines here and are around 5 liters per 100 Km... Second thing, the engine is still in the car, I can't afford the UIM gasket if I have to remove it (hard times...), so maybe that will be for later. And yes your read well, I drive street legal with my emission removed S4 :) Matthieu |
what year and model do you have? turbo or nonturbo?
|
A 1987 build S4 TII

Great!
Thanks dude! Matthieu |
Right now can't remove the emission stuff.
but if you can confirm that: • Both red arrows link the same hose, • I can T my pressure gauge on the BOW line with the restrictor pill (I guess this is the small thingy I was wondering about in this new thread for my gauges: https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...06 ), and later link the boost sensor and use a free UIM nipple for the gauge. Thanks! |
