? about N/A Vert to T2 Vert
 

I was told from 2 different peeps that:

1. It will swap in with no problem. all you need is the complete drivetrain and engine.

2. the t2 driveshaft will be short.

Anyone know if i can just swap everything into my vert, or will i need a custom driveshaft?

You don't need a custom drive shaft.

Its pretty easy I was told. Most important thing is if the T2 has been sitting it probably needs to be rebuilt. Good time to port the engine also. As for the driveshaft, I believe you need the T2 driveshaft AND halfshafts. You don't need the whole drivetrain. N/A rear should be alright...but once power becomes an issue, you don't want a stock N/A rear end with X amount of power. Best bet is to check out ebaymotors.com for T2 Engine and Tranny with ECU and Harness. Unless of course you have one lined up. 8-)

Like Vert8813B The Turbo drive shaft doesn't bolt up to the Non turbo rear end. It has a different pinion flange.

Alex-7, yes you do need a custom drive shaft unless you are using a Turbo rear end.

But back to the originators questions...

This has been covered countless times including in the FAQ for FC, you should search and read before posting...

But to answer your questions:
#1 yes that is the simplest way. Turbo engine, driveline, read end, clutch slave, AFM, Intake duct, tranny mounts, US spec ECU and engine harness, etc.

#2 The T2 drive shaft will fit perfect to a the rear end, however will not bolt to a non turbo rear end, so that (to do it right) would require a Turbo rear end and Turbo half shafts. Your other option (if micky mousing it) is to use a custom drive shaft and non turbo rear end.

thanx for all the help. sorry fpr not using the search function but i was kind of in a rush. i have a tranny rear and driveshaft setup lined up and was about to purchase it, and needed quick info. thanx for the help!
