About to buy a 87 NA RX7

Like the topic says I am planning on buying a NA 87 with a 5 spd. and 43K miles. Just thought I would introduce myself and my car. I have been driving a '93 Geo Storm, but I found this RX7 and I fell in love. Just thought I would say hey.

And I'm sure ya'll get tired of answering this, but what would be a good place to start, as far as performance goes. I am very familiar with modding cars, just not cars with rotaries. I do know of the whole intake exhaust bit, but I am basically looking for some rotary specific knowledge.

Thanks.

Hi there welcome.

Wow! 43k miles on the clock daum! That must be one nice FC

By far a complete exhaust is the most HP you can get out of an N/a a cone intake is also a good start. But first you should make sure your car is tip top. So do a full tune up.

no pics yet. I'm picking it up later today. One more question, I have been looking around and I the best recomendation I have found for oil type is 5W30, is this right or am i way off? Also, where is a good place to find the apex seals? The car has been sitting for a while and I want to go ahead and replace them just to be safe. Thanks and I will hopefully have pics tomorrow.

5W30 should only be used in a FC if you are starting and driving in temps under 0F.

The Majority of FC owners use 20W50 or 15W50 in temps above 20F.

In temps below 80F, but above -10F 10W30 is also okay.
