929 brake booster work?

Hey fellas,
I just did the five lug swap on my 87base and I heard that the 929 brake booster and master cyl are better than the heavy duty one off the RX7 (the five lug BB and MC). Is this true? And if so, are they a straight bolt on to the rx7 with no/little modification? Reason I'm asking is because I was going to get a five lug BB and MC and a freind told me that the 929 BB and MCwere superior. Thanks guys.

as far as I know, there is no difference in the MC for small brakes and large brakes, on the 2gen...only abs or non-abs. I have done the 5sp swap numerous times on base models and not changed the MC and had no noticeable change in feel from a stock 5 lug car.

The 929 version is rumored to work, however I have not personally seen it or done the swap. I do know that you would have to do some bending of brake lines to make it fit.

Excellent. I guess ill just swap the BB then. My car feels a bit spongy compaired to my freinds 88GTU. I figured it was the BB and MC needing swap to handle the five lug brakes better. BTW, the conversion is awsome man, thanks kev.

did you bleed them properly? because spongyness of brakes is caused 99% of the time by them needing to be properly bled.

yeah, i bled them properly. I read somewhere that sponginess is expected when doing the five lug swap on a non five lug car. Im not worried, it stops great, just the pedal feel isnt quite how i want it. Ill bleed them again for kicks, but nothing will come of it. Thanks

the 929 ones use banjo bolts like the FD. i did this on my FC and I have to buy the fittings to go on the end of the brake lines so they will go onto the MC, and also bend the lines.

The MC off the 5 bolt S5's is a better unit than the S4, if you use that I believe that it will get rid of your spoongy brakes.
