92 RX7 won't start, top plugs fouling

Took car out of storage after 6 months and smoked on start up, cleared itself and ran fine to the house, 50 k miles on rebuilt motor woked fine when put in storage . Brougt car to garage and had problem starting and smoked up the garage on start up was told by machanic.
Brought car home on a rough idle, tried to go down the road and had trouble getting up a steep hill, losing power but idled well. Plugs were bad and just got new ones to see if that was a fix. Now car won't stay running and blows smoke. Top plugs fouling, lower plugs clean! have gas and spark. Can anyone help me, please

Start with compression check. If that checks out, it sounds like you trailing coils aren't firing. get out that FSM or haynes and test them.

I would say most 1992 fc's are very hard to start, you know since THEY DONT EXIST. But hey what do i know?

I think all 92's were just left over 91's... don't quote me on that though.

Hey funnyman, why don't you check the title of this section of the forum.... ;)

This is similar to the problem we had with a car here. Kept fouling plugs like crazy. Turned out to be weak spark. So check the coils, and also check to make sure that you are getting spark from all 4 wires/sparkplugs.

yeah 92 is when they changed over to the fd in japan i beleive, dont quote me on that though;). But i beleive the 92 was produced in like oct 1991 fc and then givin the 92 year name. im not sure on that either though;)

you're right. 92s were actually leftoever FCs built in 91. They just wanted to sell whats left.

Then they immediately brought out the FD in 92 also.

I would do a full tune up. Spark plugs, oil, fuel injectors, ignition coils, and then try it out. If still, then check out the compression.
