Without the wiring harness or computer from the model year of your engine you may be looking at an unfixable problem.

i can get the computer, but not the harness....
is there anyway that i can just change eevrything from the old engine onto the new one, like just swap the blocks?

Yes... use your OLD fuel injectors (they're low impedence, later ones are high- that is probably the problem!) and your OLD throttle body (the TPS is different! And you have to grind a bump off to make it work on the later manifold!) Of course you need to use your old AFM. The old computer is the one to use. Everything else should be fine- you'll have to either wire the VDI open or figure out a way to actuate it.

VDI and AFM?? im not too good with the abreviations of things ;)

don't worry about the VDI for now... when it's running, then worry.

the AFM is the thing right after teh air filter that measures the incoming air. Air Fuel Meter.

If that is in a secondary it should run ok up to about 3600-3800 rpm. If the 89 injector is in a primary, you will have problems at ANY speed. either way, replace it with the proper type.
