88NA emissions thread... need to know what to keep as far as i want my AC, searched

ok its an 88 na vert. im doing a rebuild and want to clean up a bit in the engine bay. I have read kevin landers how to section write up and many threads.
Things i am going to keep
AC, PS, aws, thermowax, double throttle( i dont feel there would be any gains of taking theese out).

really i just want to know what sensor needs to stay to bump up idle when the compressor kicks on?????????? or is there a write up on emissions removal keeping ac ,tehrmo, aws etc.....
i plan on building the engine this weekend any info would be appriciated.
also will be runing 6 ports with msd rpm switch, kevin landers way

also can some one tell me if there would be much power difference over stock manifold with open straight pipe exhaust vs header with open straight exhaust?
I think the header may produce a bit more power but i dont really want to put any money in to the car, and i can make the rest of the exhaust my self. opinions

thanks
john

anyone?

there really is no point of emissions removal. just replace all the old vacuum hoses with new. This way your car runs the way it should.

a header will have a noticable gain over the stock manifold, but it will be very loud. keep your cat or upgrade to a high flow one so your 5/6 ports function and you'll keep your low end torque.

The BAC usually handles that chore..

i thoght the bac was emisions related? so does any one have the bac valve removed with a working ac? From what i have found most people get rid of emmisions and AC all at same time. could i just set my idle at 1000- 1200 , so when it kicks on it wont die? thanks for input keep it coming, im building the engine today, and want get this car done next week.
walkin im not to worried about noisy exhaust, and i will be controlling 6 ports with a little air pump and msd rpm switch.

no the BAC helps control idle under load.. not to be confused with the ACV, which is emissions related..

BAC is near the oil filler neck on the intake manifold.
