88 rx-7 needs help

i just got a 88 rx-7 car needed a tune up so i did the basics but it still ran hard and started hard. and it floods very easily. a poping noise is heard when shes. woundering if any one had any ideas, and need to know what postion the spark plugs go. what is t1 and t2 and l1 and l2

Stanello 10-13-05 12:42 AM

T1 = Trailing Front Rotor (top left spark plug looking at engine from driver's side)
T2 = Trailing Rear Rotor (top right spark plug)
L1 = Leading Front Rotor (bottom left spark plug)
L2 = Leading Rear Rotor (bottom right spark plug)

Easy flooding are generally from 2 causes, low compression or leaky injectors.

Do a compression test first, do a search for "compression test" if you're unsure how to go about doing it.

Edit: Oh, and welcome to the RX-7 community :bigthumb:

a fuel cut off switch can also prevent flooding if its overflooded by switching it off n cranking the engine to burn the extra fuel in the chambers but other then that do the compresion test and wat white87FC said
