87 TII Tire

I'm thinking about putting 215/50 R16 on 87 TII stock wheel with stock shocks.
For someone already have tried, any change (in bad way) to the ride?
Let me know.
Thanx.

no
no change, you won't even notice.

225/50-16 would be a better choice as the diameter would be exactly the same as stock then

I run 215/55R16 in back, no prob.

225/50-16 won’t rub the front fender/sway bars?
Having different tire size on front and rear won’t kill balance?

nope they wont i own 2 pairs of 225/50-16s theyre mounted on some killer looking O.Z.s they do however give you somewhat better handling on the road.

why??? I mean, that size makes your speedo off by about 2% (so when you speedo says you are driving at 60 MPH you are really driving at 61 MPH), and you raise the car up 1/2 an inch...

Use a 225/50-16 if you want a wider foot print, it is exactly the correct size if shifting from the stock 16 inch tire and fits without any problems.

Because I needed tires ASAP, and that's the closest I could get at the time.

BTW, it's actually 2.5% off, and I don't mind the rake (or gear ratio screw-ups) ;)
