87 TII intake for 89+ intake

advantages dissadvantages? i tried searching and mostly found things dealing with NA's im looking to do this with my TII

nothing done with the motor internally but i have no cats and was wanting to do the TB mod but in my search for a spare TB to play with i found an intire S5 intake manifold set and was waundering if there was any advantages to swaping these onto my S4 block

thanks for the help as always

It's not worth paying money for unless you've done everything else, but if you've got one you might as well put it on. You'll need to use the S4 TB (same size, different linkages and TPS).

There's some good comparison pics in this thread. :)

but im still confused as to if port matching will be needed...ive created atleast 3 threads asking that question and have gotten different reponses everytime...some say dont worry about port matching, some say its required...
i need to know for sure, as im begining my build this weekend (tomorrow)
i really dont want to port match it as that will be more time the car is down.....if its not "required" and there are no ill effects them im just gonna use the series 5 gasket and bolt that bitch on there...

putting a series 5 jspec upper and lower intake on a series 4 motor
turbo II
im confused as i recieved several different answers that tend to conflict each other....

final answer is ??? :D

anyone? :D

Port matching will gain a few HP, however unless you line everything up perfect when installing, you can actually loose the few extra HP that port matching provides.

So, if you have the ability to do so, and the desire to assemble everything perfect, go with port matching... if you don't, then don't bother.

im not gonna worry about it then...

im going to rebuild the motor that i blew up after i get the newer one i have installed...
im gonna take the time with that one, and make it real nice....

THANKS ONCE AGAIN.... YOU ROCK!!!
