87 n/a overheated a week ago....

Ok here it goes.. My 87 n/a has the fan setup so it can be turned on with a flip of a switch. I poped my front left tire and replaced it with my spare. I told my freind to start up the car while I go in and return the jack. I got into my car drove to my freinds house. Left the car running since I didint wat to push start the car since I dont have an operating starter. When I left my freinds house abot 15min later I noticed smoke coming from under my hood. Poped the hood and saw my coolant boiling all over the place. Looked at my temp gauge, and it was all the way up. Turned the car of automatically and turned the fan on. Left the car there to cool down for about 2 hrs. Me and my freind then push started it. The car ran just fine that whole night for about 3 hrs. No overheating nothing, just fine. The next day I was on my freinds steet and went in reverse(about 15mph) to get to the street across it and then put it into first while the car was rolling back at about 1mph and stalled like an idiot  . I then had my freind help me push start it. This time it only bobbed back and forth when I poped the clutch and gave it gas. No start! We tried another 4 times and then gave up. I thought I flodded the engine so I was gonna just pull the fuse and crank the car but I dont have a starter so I just decided to take out all the plugs and see if any fuel would come out. I didnt see and fuel come out so I just let the car sit overnight. Came back the next morinig and nothing... So me and my freind pushed it to school last night and I am gonna have my autos teacher check it out. Any suggestions Im stumped... Oh ya and the compression on the car is currntly 75 on both rotors.... I bought this car 3 months ago for $1500 without knowing anything about FC's.. wish I would've bought one from here but now I gotta learn the hard way.... Plz I realy need some help with this issue tanx alot.

I don't think that anyone is going to care whether or not you bought it here on the for sale forums or not. Too bad that you didn't read the faq thread 'how to buy an fc'.

Either way, people are still going to help you.

75 compression on both rotors when the engine is cold is absolute shit, did you give it WOT while cranking? battery had a full charge? these two things are important.
Push starting the car every time to check things out is rediculous, you can pm Indyparts and ask him for the cost of a starter for your make of fc. I've bought plenty of times from him and he is an awesome guy to deal with.

Any suggestion on how to get it started would really help....

Sounds to me like you need to look more towards the condition of your motor than anything else. Overheating a rotary is really not a good thing :)

If your starter is dead, it would not be a bad idea to get a replacement so that you can do a proper compression test on the motor. As stated before, with your foot to the floor and make sure your battery is charged, also pull the bottom plugs as well (both).

Let me know if you need a starter.

How did you do a compression test at all without a starter?
