86 t2 clutch line coils/loops HELP ???
ok why in my 86 rx7 turbo is the 3 loops in the metal line that comes out of the clutch master what was the reason for it. im having trouble bleeding the system i can get all the air out. the pedal enguages really low. but if ya pump the pedal it comes good sometimes. its no leeking anywhere. ive have put a new master and slave on and also it has new flexible lines. i also have a newish twin plate clutch. can anyone help me ??

Loops are normally put in to allow a certain amount of dynamic flex or to attenuate spikes in pressure. How are you bleeding, by pushing the pedal or by using a vacuum pump? Are the master and slave brand new or replaced with good used?

they are new mazda items my mate has used both the vacuum and by the pedal and he thinks there is air getting trapped in the top of the loops. ive seen other fc's with no loops is it really needed. any help would be great.

Same here, never seen loops in the clutch hardline before...
I should tell you though that I've had trouble bleeding them before, my working theory is a pocket of air getting stuck in a corner of the slave somewhere and not getting drawn right out....I've had difficulty twice with new units and the ONLY way I got it to bleed 100% was by (without disconnecting the hydraulic line) unbloting the slave from the tranny, crack the bleeder and turn the slave upside down, right side up - basically just twist it around a bunch of times trying to free that loose bubble....then re-bolt it - bleed, and see what you get. Of course the last time I changed the slave on the beater it bled no problem, and others have said the same - But Ive ran into it twice and that was how I managed to bleed it. |
you can just see it over the top of the brake booster
