86, 13b, she runs rich while idling and won't pass emitions, what to do?

The first time i had my car tested it ran over C.O. by .35 and the limit is 1.50. I checked timing(it was perfect) changed plugs, changed oil and cleaned air filter(nasty dirty) the previus owner took pour care of car. Some one also told me to run alchahol in the gas to increase combustion but my C.O. ran at 3.00 this time, so i don't know what to do now.

I'd do a quick search since this is a common problem. (sorry, had to plug the search).

Have you ever played with the idle air mix adjustment near the intake? I wouldn't screw with it if the cap is still there, but if it isn't it could be set too rich.

Good Idea but it is already all the way open, so i am thinking there is to much fuel and that is what i need to adjust

adjust the variable resistor(in front of the RF strut tower) to as lean(counterclockwise) as possible of a position before it starts to run rough. try testing it at that position, be sure the car is nice and toasty warm before they do the test. ;)
