6port turbo, final piece
ok, i just searched for about an hr, with not results....maybe im searching the wrong thing....
so, i completed my 6port turbo project over the summer, and since i couldnt drive it cause i dont have a license til next month, i left the blow off valve disconnected and off the car, my question is, what vacuum hose on the throttle body should i use to open the blow off valve? i tried 2 off the front of the engine bay side, but they didnt do anything................. hopefully, i can get pictures of this project, its been about a yr in the making.... thanks guys, i really appreciate it... |
Bov's are overrrated.
If you're really pressed, i'd just drill and tap for a barbed or compresson fitting aft of the throttle body directly into the manifold. |
im not pressed for time or anything, cause the car easily boosts to well over the blowvalves capablity, and it probably forces it open....not sure tho....
i mean, i have a 10psi wastegate (before it opens, yeah i know....the spring is rated to 10psi) and the ssqv i have it rated to 8, and the turbo is easily capable of 35psi............................................. .......... hmmmmmmm, i drove it for like 10mins, which was highly illegal.... feels really nice........ im excited to drive this thing, i havent driven, honestly driven in over 2yrs, and i lost my license for 1yr....but everytime i was seen driving, id get followed or harassed by the 5-0 |
im not sure about na but on the turbo, all the ports pointing to the rad are boost/vac reads so i would think that with the tb oriented the opposite way that you should try a port on the firewall side. or just tap a new port.
|
thanks bro, thats what i was looking for.....
i remember seeing a diagram for the 6port turbo blowoff valve hookup, but i cant remember where it was...... its probably on aaron cakes build up site....but, i dont know...... |

The bottom nipple on the front of the S4 UIM will see vacuum/boost. It normally supplies vacuum to the emissions solenoids.
This info is available in the factory vacuum diagram. |

Any nipple that has vacuum (feel for it with the car running) can be used. You must have removed VDI and 6PI so you should have some open nipples. I used one near the MAP line hookup but mines an S5. You could tee into the MAP line if you really wanted to but some argue that you compromise the accuracy of the signal. Which turbo did you use? More info on the setup? |
ok lets see....
street ported 13b t3/t4 hybrid .60 trim (same thing as a to4s, to4e) removed 6pi- "2nd" gen turbo manifold, not the stock one intercooler is like 27L 15H 2.5D, piping starts at 2" and feeds out to 2.75" might be a little over kill hks ssqv im running a tial 44mm wastegate, but i have a 50mm if i need it walbro 255 fuel pump mazdatrix oil pedestal apex safc i have 2 800 cc injectors that i need to put in act street clutch brand new 5spd tranny 2.5" dp, 2.5" resonator 3" cat, 3" long pipe, dual 3" exit shaved doors, modified front bumper, set of 17*7 gunmetal adr rims (7spoke) fuel pump turn off, all guages, interior is decent... custom skull guage cluster....picked up a skull from one of those halloween stores, cut the eyes out and part of the month, holds 3 guages, boost/vacuum, oil pressure, af... trying to think if im forgetting anything....i dont think i am...but im not really sure.... |
what turbo manifold are you running? there aren't a whole lot of options for T3 manifolds... it sounds like you have an ebay turbo as well

What's the VDI and 6PI on a S5 have to do with vacuum? Nothing is the answer.

i removed the 6port acuators, but i can still go in and open and close them manually... for the power difference at higher and lower rpms
the manifold is from ebay, and the turbo....long story.....i built a turbocharged escort gt(protege with the bp series motor for those familiar) when i turned 18, i have a .60 series t3, that i sent back for a rebuild, and i talk to the guy doing it and asked what he had, and he made me an offer for a t3/t4 hybrid, for a little extra, basic same stats, which i can look up.... setup holds boost til 6500 with no signs of strain under a idiotic tune, way to much gas..... wanted to be safe about it... in all honesty i built this thing cause ive always wanted an fc/fd chassis, so if i blow this thing up i only loose about 2500bux, maybe less but.......next build will probably be costly depending on if i drop something else in |
