6 port turbo with tII ecu,MAF and boost senrsor problems??

ok, so ive had my n/a with a stock s4(wastegate ported to hell) turbo with the spacer running since last (late)summer. it was running fine except lean above 6RPM's (stated in another thread)and slight hesitation. when i was using a n/a MAF,boost sensor and ECU. i switched all 3 tonight and put all hi throttle settings (safcII)to at least 20 or so for saftey reasons (i will tune them down using innovate wideband). i swapped/plugged all 3 in, fired it up and it idles much better but... i can drive if im easy on the throttle but say im in 4th gear at 1,500 RPM's and floor it the cars just goes super lean. i watched the wideband drop to 15 or more(wanst in boost)and it dogs really bad. i can get up to the speed limit no problem if i keep the pedal less than 1/4, but as soon as i hit it all it does is dog really bad. i tried adjusting the SAFCII as much as possible but it doesnt help. the one time i floored it at 1,500 RPM's and i let off and it sounded like a shotgun(backfire). could someone tell me what is going on? i thought i could plug the TII ecu in with the other 2 TII products and it would run much better but it now runs way worse.i also realize this is a hack job but ive seen many people on here run this.
TII ECU: N333
boost pressure senor: N326
MAF: not sure but seller claims there all 3 form high imp. s4 TII(letters are worn off)
my car is high imp. so i have hi imp. 550's which i used even befoe the TII ecu stuff was installed and 720's wiht resistors in the wires near ecu.
my mods:
s4 stock turbo(ported wastegate) and manifold
spacer for manifold
550
720
no rats nest
tmic converted to fmic wiht 2 inch piping
greddy type s bov
fd fuel pump
innovate wideband
SAFCII
i have more but i figure they dont matter in this situation.

Can you bypass your SAFC to run only the ECU?

There is a possibility there is something in the AFM its not likely so I won’t post it until the Fuel delivery has been covered.

well part of your problem seems to be your pressure/boost sensor,!!

a N326 pressure/boost sensor is for a NA!!!! which is only a 1 bar sensor range from -14.7 to 0 pressure with a range of signal from 0-5 volts( well its something like that)

a real TURBO II sensor a N318 goes from -14.7 to positive 14.7. with the same range of voltage 0-5 volts(somewhere around there...)

meaning.... if your going to zero vacume or positive pressure the NA sensor is sending the ecu 5 volts, instead of 2.5 ,so the ecu thinks your running 14 psi!!!! which is prolly cutting fuel to the rear rotor, do you have a FCD??

impedance wont matter to the ECU all 2nd gen ECU are designed to see high impedance, wetiher its be using high imp injectors, or having low imp + resistor pack.

did u also unplug some of the emissions things from the ECU, theres a few things pins that are different in a T2 ecu

damn, so i bought a n/a sensor??? ugh... no wonder...that kinda makes sense.. i do not have a FCD as i only wanted to get it running better... thank god i wasnt boosting! i made sure to stay below 2,000 rpm's for the sake of fuel cut. i want to test the ecu before sending it to pocketlogger for the rtek 1.7... i could bypass the safc just by either unpluging the harness or setting to 0's acrossed the range.

the thing i dont understand is that if its thinking im hitting such a hi boost wouldnt it add tons of fuel??? or is it getting so lean because of fuel cut??

adrock3217 01-22-06 07:55 PM

Fuel cut is when the ECU cuts ALL fuel to the rear rotor. Not lean, not rich, NONE.

ok, i see...thanks!
i guess ill buy a tII pressure sensor and see what happens.

I never remember the numbers since kompressorlogic knew the PS I looked up the ECU for you just so you know it is a TII ECU therefore it is capable of delivering FC.

And 0InHg is very easy to reach.

yeah, thats where i messed up!! i assumed that the sensor was right since the guy on here said it was... should have done my homework and searched!!

88rxn/a 01-30-06 09:58 PM

ok...got the tII sensor and no more fuel cut..now i can turn the safc way down because it runs very rich up top..before it was running very lean even with 720's.. now i get cutting out at 6K im thinkin because of plugs are fouled.. i will get plug wires to to help the problem. it runs so much better except i get some bucking hesitation under very light load around 2K.. i either have to down shift or goose the gas.. is this fixable or is it maybe because of the hack job i have going on?? it also wants to stall out when i roll to a stop with clutch in. i actually have the safc up to 12 or 13 on low setting just to get the a/f reading at 13. without turning it up its like 15.5 or higher.
