I have already read through your whole Project Tina build and have seen all of your Cosmo vids, so I know your experience in this realm is almost unmatched, but I do wonder why you don't use the 9.7 rotors. I would expect that they would have better response at low speeds than the 9.0 rotors and are lighter than the 9.4 rotors, so as long as steps are taken to keep knock down, they should work.

Every turbo-NA project I've seen with 9.7:1 rotors has blown up in short order. Or had to be tuned conservatively to survive, that the power made isn't much more than 8.4:1 engines.

When one starts adding AI, that changes the game somewhat. I have no experience in that arena since I do not consider "AI" to be a component of a street car. Bottles that need to be refilled, whether nitrous or aux injection, require managing, and in my opinion are for the track.

Would it start and drive? Yes. Would it be ideal? Nope. You'd have to increase boost to tune your AFRs once the secondaries stage, which is not the way to do it.

Doing stuff cheap is just going to cost you 5x as much later when you need to rebuild the engine and invest in a proper EMS.

I appreciate your response and opinion. In my application, I am running AI in my car. At present it's torn down due to a blown iron seal groove. I have gotten my hands on several turbo rotors and they are all trashed. Irons too. I have some perfect 9.7 rotors lying around with a few 6-port housings, so I'm just going to plan on assembling with those anyways. I'm tired of buying garbage parts and I do want some of the response benefits that come with higher compression, but I know that all of that response will be lost with the huge port area of the 6 port secondaries. I do have a FD upper with the secondary butterflies intact. I know Bumpstart on this forum has in the past used the secondary blades on a TB to stage airflow to the secondaries under load, so I'm planning a similar setup with the FD upper.
