5th & 6th port actuators.

It is to my understanding that S5s need the airpump installed in order to open up the actuators. The previous owner removed the airpump but included the airpump with the car. My question is, is there a way to open up those actuators without the airpump installed? I'v heard of people rigging them to stay open. And how bad will the hurt my gas milage? She gets poor milage as it is compared to my corsica lol but thats the least of my concerns. I just want to know if theres an alternative way to open those up. Or if i should just find some bolts and buy a belt and throw that bitch back on. Thank you.

I'd go ahead and put the pump back on. You could wire the actuator arms in the open position, but you'd be leaving a fair amount of much needed low-end grunt on the table.

lol you'll learn to ignore most the crap on here. There are ways you can hook it up electronically with switches and stuff, that when your engine hits 3500 rpm and your secondaries kick in, your ecu will tell the car to turn them on. that's probably the baller way to go. I'm S4 so mine is hooked up to my cat right now, but when I go straight pipe back from my rb header i'll have to figure something else out. Maybe take the sleeves out for a temperary fix, or maybe I'll just do the electronically controlled thing. Check the 2nd gen archives, there's a LOT of juicey stuff in there. It's not good to click in there when you know you have stuff to do because you can be in there all day haha no joke.

Thanks dude. Ill look into that. The one thing i like is the cleanner engine bay without the pump in there lol but id rather have performance. Ill look at different options and see what best suits me. Thanks for the info guys.
