5 hours later and still not done doing my clutch, flywheel, and exhaust
 

i ordered a lightweight flywheel, and a act clutch and pressure plate ,, needless to say that its a pain in my ass. heheh i and 2 other friends of mine spent a good portion of about 5 hours trying to get the tranny back in place.. well . maybe it was like 3 hours.. but everything else that was included like ,, changing the flywheel , and having to go to the ups station that is like 30 mins away to pick it up cuz i wasnt home to sign for it today.

well anyway . lining up the tranny royaly sucked. got it up there finally. then i went to change the rear tranny seal and i cut up the grommet fairly bad. and the seal isnt going in that well.. but i started to shake from lack of food and sleep.. so im taking a break till later today after some much needed rest and a trip to my buddy's tool box to return and borrow more tools.

moral and short of it. clutches/flywheels suck to change

NO! moral is do them when rebuilding the engine! :)

With some planning, proper tools, experience, and a bit of luck, you can do a clutch in under 2 hours.

My best time (on a car with single exhaust) is 45 minutes.

Clutch completly done in 45 minutes? Do you have a pit crew working for you? I did a 1st gen in a driveway from start to finish in 3 hours and I was hauling ass with few snags.

A friend and I did a FD in 45 minutes. Just one of those days I guess when everything went in perfect and came off with no problems.

Cool! Then, I can expect my clutch/ rebuild/TII conversion done in, say, 8 hours? I'll be by to pick it up!!:p:

The first clutch I ever did was in my Impreza which is an AWD car, and it took about 6 hours just relaxing while we did it..

ive done a few rwd trannys; it just seems like nothing is going right .. t hats all
