i love searching through auto trader for a good laugh once in a while. this one was expecially funny.

i sometimes maybe even get about 20mpg

im lucky if i get that. i get maybe around 15 average.

I've already done plugs and wires and I still only get abotu 11 mpg. I'm going to change the fuel filter and the o2 sensor, and then come to accept that my 1.3L drinks fuel like a 5.7L :o:

only 57k miles, probably a GXL... for $7900! Ha!

that is pretty good. on auto trader there was an 88 T2 selling for $13,000 yesterday. had like 40k miles on it or something.

It is possible to get 27-30mpg on the freeway with a healthy N/A RX-7. I have even read of street ported N/A's doing this. You have to be just cruising at 70 to do this, though. Right after I bought mine (totally stock), with some city and freeway driving on the tank, it got 26.

maybe he's done the b16 swap :)

thats about the only way I can see an fc get 40mpg.. that or coasting downhill with the motor off :)

best i ever got all stock was about 11mpg on premium gas and some octaine boosters

i got 28 cruising accross ohio indiana an illinois..

they're flat..

i ran 87 octane the whole way in my automatic gxl

it was great

1. You should be running the lowest octane possible in your NA

2. Octane boosters are doing nothing for you but reducing your mileage, reducing your wallet and lowering the power output of your engine

3. If you are getting 11 MPG peak, then there is something seriously wrong with your car

4. Do you have any elementary understand of cars at all?

5. I can't believe I just wasted my time replying to this...

My 86 n/a gets consistanly 25 MPG on 89 octane 1 - 2 mpg less with either 87 or 91 octane. this tell me thayt 89 is the way to go.
my 88 has simmilar differences with the different octane but with 89 it will get a stable 29 mpg with an average speed of 72 MPH.
botyh of these cars have similar mods. but the 88 has a ported intake manifold, the MAF is modified slightly, but eh 88 has the timing set at racing beat recomendations, while the 86 is advanced a little further.
the 88 is a little faster too, always has been, mabey I should reset the timing on the 86.
I don't know what the 87 n/a gets.

A good tii will get 24-28mpg highway cruising (off boost, heh).

my stock TII got 17mpg with no boost, and thats the best I've ever gotten, my N/A got maybe 19mpg without having a heavy foot, normally I get 11-13mpg in my TII, and back when I had my N/A I usally got 14-17mpg if I was lucky
