3rd gen seats

Where can I get hold of a set of 3rd gen seats, and how easy are they to install in an FC? I assume they are pricey... does anyone know HOW pricey exactly?

Thanks alot.

Go to the For Sale section for the FD, there might be some in there, or on Ebay. As for installation questions, try doing a search. I did the same for RX-8 seats, which I have yet to purchase, but I am seriously thinking about it :bigthumb:

I believe you just switch the rails for the seats and drill new holes. Not too much of a pain.

RX-8 seats are sweeet. I have never been in FD seats, so I can't compare, but here at the Mazda dealership I have been in several RX-8s, and the seats are nice. There are different ones available, but my favorite ones are all black cloth, and at the headrest area there is a silver rotary emblem made into the seat, and there's a hole in the middle (like in racing seats for harnesses except this one's shaped like a rotary emblem).

Plus they are pretty comfortable. The only drawback to them is most of them, if not all, have side airbags in the seats. Which by itself isn't bad, but you don't want those suckers to go off. Talking to the technicians here, even static electricity will set them off.

Speaking of which, have you ever seen an airbag deploy? It's pretty badass as long as you're not the one it's exploding in front of...at the dealership we legally have to blow up airbags that have been taken out of cars. We strap the backsides down to this heavy ballast, hook up the electrical, place an orange or a head of lettuce on the top, and set them off! They burst so fast you can't even see it happen. The amount of tehnology that goes into the smallest things in a car these days will make your head spin.

My apologies for rambling on, but it is interesting
