33 = port air bypass solenoid ( What is it & what does it do??)

Just pulled some codes and got 12 & 33..

33 = port air bypass solenoid open or short circuit
What is this and what does it do?

I am in the process of replacing my TPS since code #12 poped up...

The solenoid is basically an air bypass into the intake. It allows air to bypass the throttle to create a high idle condition. It is partly responsible for the 3K startup, and also opens when you turn the steering wheel if your car has power steering. The location for this valve is in the factory service manual, and it is easy to test and cheap to replace (used parts are a dime a dozen).

Sorry, but a thirty three is a Port Air Solenoid Valve not a BAC. I've no idea what a Port Air Bypass Solenoid is.

The Port Air Solenoid is on the ACV and is disfuncitonal after twenty thousand miles. Ports air to the .....ports.
