300zx brake setup on an fc?

This may sound kinda silly. But I was lookin at a gxl brake set up today and the fronts looked a lot like a 300zx caliper. Almost identical infact. Well, for the fronts atleast. The rears not so much.

So ill ask the question. Ive searched and there surprisingly isnt anything here about it. Anyone know if a set of 300zx calipers and rotors F&R would fit on a fc? The only thing im worried about is how the caliper mounts up to the knucle spindle thing calipers mount too (sorry dont know the term for em.)

This would be mainly be to upgrade the rears. And because the parts are easy to source and are pretty damn cheap. Compared to buying an aftermarket setup that can run you 1k+ for just the fronts! Im pretty sure you can get the calipers, rotors, and some sort of brake lines for around 500 bux if you source em yourself. the only reason im asking is because i have a set of z32 calipers i got for a steal. 60 bucks! Anyways, any helpful insight on this? Thanks.

edit: i think the rotors are slightly larger too on the 300zx so that would also mean theres a slight upgrade in braking force too..??

I have seen guys run Porsche calipers & I have heard of some running Nissan brakes. I just have never seen the write ups on these. BTW most Nissans have the same mount location. Some of the B15 sentra guys use the Q45, 300ZX brakes as an upgrade.

I know the 240 guys go nuts over this swap. But i was just wondering because the fronts looked almost identical as the z32 fronts. im just worried about the mounting locations..

oh and if i wanted to go suuuuper baller..:gay:

oh and the q45 and 300zx are the same in terms of rotors. if memory serves correct the q45s just dont have as many pistons as a 300zx caliper does though... right?

anyone else know anything else about this swap?

The front brakes already have 4 piston calipers, basically the same as the FD's. Do you really think you need to upgrade them? Rotors I can understand, but calipers? It's a 2700lb car...

Like I said. Mainly for the rear...

And if you really wanted to go all out you can upgrade and buy the adaptor i posted earlier to run the 350z's 12.75" rotor in the front.

Is is neccesary? No, your right, its not.. But I already have the calipers. So why not try?

The z32 use a drum in disc for the parking break. So even if you go through the trouble of mounting the calipers, you won't have a parking break.

*edit-
oops, I didn't see how old this was.

I saw an old thread on here about swapping in EVO brakes.... but yea, the brakes are fine as they are...
